Hong Kong grouper eggs produced artificially at JNU Ocean Science Institute

The Jeju National University Ocean Science Institute (Professor Lee Young Don, Director) and its university-investment enterprise Sea Al (Lee Chi Hoon, CEO) distributed artificially fertilized eggs from Hong Kong grouper fish (Epinephelus akaara, a Jeju red spotted grouper) to the affiliate companies Chung Sol Fisheries and Saebo Fisheries for hatching and marketing, it was announced earlier today (January 29, 2015).
The artificial fish eggs were produced under the 10-year grant program (“Golden Seed Project”) from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Food Technology Evaluation Agency.
Spawning season for the Hong Kong grouper is summer, but the JNU institute enabled producing the artificial eggs throughout the year for industrial scale hatching and fish marketing.
