JDC-LG CNS와 ‘국토부 캠퍼스 혁신파크’ 유치 협약

Cooperation with JDC and LG CNS agreed to open data center

Jeju National University is actively attracting the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT) Campus Innovation Park in preparation for the fourth industrial revolution and digital transformation.

The Campus Innovation Park is a project to create an idle university site as a regional data center where a high-tech industrial complex is installed to attract corporate facilities, start-up support facilities, and residential and cultural facilities.

For years, the nation’s local governments and institutions have promoted the data center project. The project has yet to become successful, and no data center is established in Jeju.

Jeju National University intends to build a hub for digital innovation equipped with the best data center facilities. The university envisions a center with a total floor area of 13,000㎡ on campus to be designated as an agent of the MOLIT Campus Innovation Project.

Jeju National University signed a memorandum of understanding with Jeju Free International City Development Center (JDC) and LG CNS, a digital conversion service provider.

Jeju National University, one of the nation’s key national universities, expects the agreement to help attract Jeju’s first data center to increase its research and industry-academic cooperation capabilities.

If realized, the data center project will contribute to creating quality jobs and revitalizing the local high-tech convergence industries by enabling excellent graduates of cloud/data courses to be employed by large companies.
