Ko Jeong-kwon recognized as promising IP specialist
Ko Jeong-kwon, who graduated from Jeju National University with a bio-material major in February this year, recently won the Korea Intellectual Property Talent Award presented by the Korea Intellectual Property Education and Research Society (KIPERS).
The KIPERS said, “Ko recognizes the importance of intellectual property in preparation for the fourth industrial revolution and actively participates in education and research to grow into a talent who will contribute to strengthening the IP-related power of Korea.”
Ko, who completed education programs on intellectual properties, also won awards at the Jeju Regional University Creative Invention Contest and Jeju Local Culture Trademark Design Competition. After acquiring the Level 1 certificate for TRIZ (creative problem-solving theory), he deposited microorganisms in the Korea Microbiological Conservation Center for patent registration.
He also contributed to the promotion and spread of intellectual property by using IP education and knowledge as a mentor for IP trainees.
Ko said, “I plan to study in the microbiological field by applying for a graduate program this year.” He plans to continue to participate in intellectual property-related programs and make efforts to grow into an IP expert.
