East Asian Collegian Peace and Human Rights Camp set up by JNU Sociology students



'Commemorating the 10th and 68th Anniversaries of “Jeju Island of Peace” and 4.3. Incident, respectively, Jeju National University students from the Department of Sociology organized the 26th East Asian Collegian Peace and Human Rights Camp set up at Robello Hotel and Jeju International Free City Center from February 10 through 14, 2015.

The camp participants included delegates from Jeju National University, Chonnam National University, Dong Ah University, Seoul National University, Ritsumeikan University and APU. Camp program featured lectures by invited speakers, field trips, and panel discussion and presentations by the students. “Jeju 4.3 Incident” and “Militarization of East Asia and Jeju during the post 2nd world war through the present time” were the themes of the camp.

More than 80 students and faculty members participated in the camp activities organized by Jeju National University Tamla Culture Research Institute and the Jeju 4.3 Foundation.
