JNU allows acquiring up to 12 credit hours while in the army
As a higher education law permitting academic credit hours while serving in the military becomes effective this academic year (2015), , Jeju National University approves up to 12 credit hours annually in the “military credit hours” (6 per each semester) category.
Previously, only 3 credit hours were accepted.
A student in military service will now be able to acquire up to 12 academic credit hours through the Ministry of Defense-operated e-Learning based on cyber lessons.
There were 5 students who obtained academic credit hours while serving in the army in 2008; this number increased to 104 students this academic year (2015). The military credit hours policy makes it possible for a student to continue academic studies without interruption when serving in the army.
