WISET제주지역센터, 여고생 생명공학캠프 기초반 운영
Basic biotechnology camp sponsored by WISET Jeju Regional Center

Jeju National University WISET (Women in Science, Engineering and Technology) Jeju Regional Center (Doh Yang Hee, Director) opened the 2015 basic biotechnology camp last Saturday (May 16, 2015).

Jointly run by JNU Subtropical Horticulture Research Institute, the camp aims to promote the area of biotechnology as a career profession for the region’s high school girl students.

This year’s basic camp features a basic biotechnology lecture by Professor Kim In Joong, tour of the labs, and isolation of DNA with the help of graduate students.

An advanced biotechnology camp (for 89 campers screened from the 124 basic camp participants) is planned in June (June 13, July 18).

WISET Jeju Regional Center has been operating the WISE program for the last ten years. In 2012, WISET was established by adding “technology” to the WISE program.
