International Symposium to discuss "Minority and Human Rights"



Jointly with Osaka City University Human Rights Research Center (Furukubo Sakura, Director), Jeju National University Center for Jenuans In Japan (Choi Hyun, Director) will hold an international symposium on “Minority and Human Rights” in JNU International Affairs Center Hall (Audiovisual Laboratory) next Friday (09:30, June 19, 2015).

The symposium program includes △a reconsideration of Korean Immigrants’ identity (Lim Young Eon, Research Professor, Chonnam National University)  △a post World War II historical study of Korean immigrant minority in Japan1(Kim In Duk, Chungam University △ Jeju national refugees: Jejuans’ experience in Ohmura Internment Camp (Lee Jung Eun, Professor, Episcopalian University) △ marriage evasion against a black African (Naoko Saito, Professor, Osaka City University) △AIDS dispute and discrimination: Gender sexuality nationalism (Shingae Akimoto, Associate Professor, Osaka City University) △generation inheritance and gender (Yang Woo Ja, Osaka City University).

Papers presented at the symposium will be published as a proceedings volume by the Center for Jejuans in Japan.
