This year's Baekrock Literary Prize goes to Song Seo Young in poetry and Moon So Yeon in novel

Song Seo Young (Freshman in Ethics Education) and Moon So Yeon (Sophomore in Korean Language Education) won this year’s 35th Baekrock Literary Prize, it was announced by Jeju National University today (June 17, 2017).
The prize winning poem and novel are entitled “Soombi Sound” (breathing sound) and “Green Whale”, respectively.
Twenty poetry division contestants entered 117 poems, whereas five writers submitted 5 novels to this year’s contest. Poet Kim Soo Yeol and Novelist Cho Joong Yeon were the judges, respectively.
JNU President Huh Hyang Jin congratulated the winners with prize stipends and certificates.
The Baekrock Literary Prize was inaugurated by Jeju National University Newspaper in 1981 to encourate the students to nourish their literary talents.
