Ceremony of Time-Capsule Burial and the Unveiling the Stone Monument to Commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Opening of Jeju National University

Jeju National University (JNU) held a ceremony to bury a time-capsule and unveil a stone monument to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the JNU opening, at Arayeon Pond in front of the JNU Student Center.
The time capsule collection consists of a video message sent by university members, such as the faculty council, student council, and civil servants work council, to members who will be working at JNU 30 years from now. In addition, the time capsule included historical materials such as the university’s development plans, its curriculum, and admission guidelines. The time capsule is scheduled to be opened in 2052, a date that will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of JNU.
The stone monument is engraved with the poem ‘Uri Nang-gojiga Doeja (Let’s Become Thick Forest)’, which was donated by poet Kim Su-yeol (a graduate of the Department of Korean Language Education JNU in 1984) to commemorate the 70th anniversary of JNU.
