On May 27th at Aramuse Hall, JNU, Jeju National University held a ceremony to commemorate the 70th anniversary of its founding.

President Kim Eel-hwan said in a commemorative speech, “JNU will strengthen Hybrid Education by establishing high-tech education infrastructure in order to actively cope with changes in the educational environment, such as the decrease in the school-age population, changes in the industry caused by the 4th Industrial Revolution, and the post-COVID-19 era."

President Kim also said, "A sustainable research ecosystem will be prepared through innovation in research support administration, creation of convergence clusters between academic institutions, and establishment of Hallimwon to efficiently combine the power of industries, schools, research institutes, and government offices in Jeju."

“Starting from the 70th anniversary of the founding of JNU, the 10-year mid-to-long-term development vision 2031 has been set as the ‘Cradle of Student Growth and University Creating New Values’. And we will achieve our goals without being shaken by the rapidly changing world situation or social and cultural trends,” he emphasized.

Jeju National University also held a proclamation ceremony entitled ‘JNU Pen of Love Relay Donation Campaign’, in order to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the opening of JNU.

The ‘JNU Pen of Love Relay Donation Campaign’ is aimed at helping to solve the university's financial difficulties through voluntary participation of Jeju residents, families and alumni of JNU to make it a cornerstone of future university development as well as contributing to the development of Jeju community through the spread of voluntary donation culture.
