제11대 총장에 김일환 교수 발령

Prof. Kim Il-hwan appointed as 11^th JNU president 

President Moon Jae-in appointed Kim Eel-hwan, a professor of electrical engineering at Jeju National University, as the 11th president of the university.

Kim’s term of office is four years until March 3, 2026.

In the second round of the 11th presidential candidate election held on Nov. 25, Kim won 387 votes (54.5 percent) out of 710 valid votes.

The new JNU president graduated from Chung-Ang University with a degree in electrical engineering and received his master’s and doctorate degrees from the graduate school of the same university.

He joined JNU in 1991 and served as the head of the university’s Information and Communication Institute and the dean of the College of Engineering. He also worked as the chairman of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Energy Committee and the director of Jeju TechnoPark.
