Two graduates are first Law School judge appointees

Two graduates are first Law School judge appointees

Cha Young Min (31) and Kim Joo Wan (31), graduates of the first class of the Jeju National University School of Law succeeded in getting judgeship , it was announced yesterday (July 1, 2015).

Their appointments represent the first judgeship appointment cases among the lawyers graduating from the JNU School of Law.

The judge appointee Cha has been serving as lawyer with Korea Legal Aid Corporation and Jeju District Prosecutors Office, whereas Mr.  Kim has been in military service as an army legal officer, after the both passed the bar examinations, respectively, in 2012.

They will undergo further legal and courtship training at Judicial Research and Training Institute until February 17, 2016, before getting assigned to their respective specialty area.

Seoul National University recorded 5 judgeship appointments this year, whereas Yonsei, Korea and Jeju National Universities landed 2 each.
