University accounting deliberation and resolution committee launched

A Financial Affairs Committee was established to deliberate and resolve the university accounting matters at Jeju National University last Tuesday (July 13, 2015).

The new committee was launched in response to the mandatory shift from the school support foundation-based accounting to the national university system accounting legalized last March. As the result, the committee becomes the authorized accounting body for Jeju National University.

The financial affairs committee is comprised of 7 permanent members and 8 elected members.

The permanent committee members include Dean of Graduate School, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and Planning, Vice President for Academic Affairs, President of Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, and. Vice President of Faculty Senate. Two each of faculty, staff and students, one accounting graduate and one recommended by JNU Alumni Association comprise the elected members of the committee.

The committee duties covers deliberation and resolution of △mid and long term financial management plans △budget and resolution of university budget △admission fee and tuition △payment of education and research △investment planning and decision △resolution and amendment of financial accounting system △ staffing of accountants and office workforce △advance payments △continuing payments, etc.

The first meeting of the committee elected Professor Lee Sang Bong, Department of Accounting, College of Economics and Commerce, to head the committee.
