WISET센터, 여고생 공학캠프 개최
High school girls join WISET Engineering Camp

Jeju National University Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (WISET) Jeju Regional Center (Doh Yang Hee, Director) opened a weekend camp (July 11-12, 2015) for Jeju area high school girls; the camp held on JNU campus was operated by the center and sponsored by Jeju Youth Science Study Club (Ko Yong Chul, President and Vice Superintendent, Saehwa Junior High School) under the banner of “2015 Creative Engineering Study Camp-High School Girls Engineering Dream.”

The camp theme was promoting the problem solving ability through self-motivated fusion research activities.

Fifty seven high schoolers participated in the camp, and a model aircraft building was the specific engineering subject for the campers.

Nineteen aircraft models of varying flight efficiencies were made for contest by the camp participants.

◇ Prize winners

△ Outstanding (JNU Presidential Prize) = Chang Keum Yi (Joongang Girls High freshmen, and two teammates, and Bhoo Dong Paem (JNU Aux. High sophomore and two teammates)

△ Excellence (JNU College of Engineering Dean’s Prize) = Min 2 Hyun (Joongang Girls High freshman and two teammates), Park Hye Yeon and two teammates (JNU Aux. High School sophomores), and Chang Yoon Sun and two teammates (Namnyeong High freshmen), and Kim Sun Min and two teammates (Jeju Girls High sophomores).
