Open Biotech Laboratory Day welcomes high school freshmen

The Jeju National University Subtropical Agriculture and Bioscience Fusion Industry Training Project (Lee Dong Sun, Director) held an Open Biotech Laboratory Day for a group of Seogwipo High School freshmen last Thursday (July 9, 2015).

The open laboratory visitation program provides an opportunity for the future career-considering high school freshmen to experience what goes on in animal and plant biotech laboratories at the Jeju National University subtropical biotech institute.

The all day program featured △introduction of biotechnology related departments △learning about the biotech majors and laboratory visit △ laboratory experience and practice △meeting with the host department students and faculty members △campus tour and △Q&A session on collegian life.

The high school students visited Stem Cell Research Center, Sustainable Agriculture and Environment Research Institute, and Subtropical Horticulture Research Institute.

Implementation of the JNU training project is funded by the Ministry of Education for the purpose of infrastructure establishments needed to promote the clean health food and subtropical biotech industries.
