GTEP team gets superior recognition at Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Contest

A team of Jeju National University Global Trade Experts Incubating Program (GTEP, Lee Yong Wan, Director) came away with an excellence award for its program activities and performances at a national contest sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Korea International Trade Association (KITA). The 4th GTEP Exemplary Performance Cases Contest was held at COEX Center in Seoul last week.

The national GTEP contest has been held since 2012 to promote global trading of the GTEP program-produced goods developed by the participant small and medium size businesses.

The JNU GTEP program entered into the contest presented the case of its affiliate business Seoyon, Ltd, with its Export-to-China team’s trade activities.

The JNU GTEP enabled the affiliate company team to launch online shopping of Seoyon cosmetics products throughout China, resulting in monthly gross of 10,000 dollars this year. Considering that Seoyon’s online sale in China opened only last year, both the GTEP and the company see a growing prospect for the cosmetics products on the Chinese online market in the future.

The award winning GTEP team also earned a supplementary prize that provides an expense-subsidized overseas industrial study trip.
