특허청 ‘신산업 지식재산 인재양성 사업’에 3개 학과 선정

Three departments were selected for the ‘New Industrial Intellectual Property Talent Nurturing Project’ by the Korean Intellectual Property Office 

In the Intellectual Property Convergence Talent Cultivation Project for New Industry Fields by the Korean Intellectual Property Office, three departments at Jeju National University were selected : Biomaterials (Faculty of Fiotechnology, Kim In-jung, Professor in charge), Department of Information Management (Hyeon Jeong-seok, Professor in charge), and Electronic Engineering (Heo Jae-young, Professor in charge).

Among universities in Korea, JNU is the only university 3 departments selected, the most for a single university. These departments will receive 240 million won this year and 360 million won each in 2023 and 2024.

Among the new industry field, △ Department of Biomaterials aims to nurture talents in the field of bio-health and innovative new drugs, △ Department of Information Management aims at the Big-Data field △ Department of Electronic Engineering aims to foster IP (intellectual property) convergence talent in the next-generation semiconductor field.

Jeju National University unites these three departments to form and operate the ‘Jeju University New Industry Intellectual Property Convergence Talent Cultivation Project Group (Head, Professor Kim In-jung)’ The project group will provide scholarships to outstanding students, hold competitions and create intellectual property rights, etc. in order to cultivate talents with the ability to fin employment and start-up capabilities.
