Celebration Event for the Alumni Elected in the 8th Local Election

Jeju National University (President Kim Eel-hwan) and Jeju National University Alumni Association (Chairperson Kang Ji-yong) held the ‘Celebration Event for JNU Alumni elected in 8th National Local Election’ at Maison Glad Jeju on the 22nd.

In the Jeju Regional Election, 32 alumni including Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Governor Oh Young-hoon, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Superintendent Kim Kwang-soo, 26 members of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Council, and 4 members of the education committee of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province were elected.

President Kim Eel-hwan and general alumni chairperson Kang Ji-yong delivered congratulatory plaques and bouquets of flowers to the elected alumni.

President Kim said, “On behalf of all the members of Jeju National University, I would like to truly congratulate you.” “Even if the political ideology is different from that of the party, I hope that everyone will be united under the name of Jeju National University and actively respond to the government's university policy. Also, we ask for your generous support and encouragement so that the region and universities can cooperate with each other and continue to develop JNU."

Kang, chairperson of the Alumni Association, said, "I am very happy that many alumni of Jeju National University have been elected as provincial governor, superintendent, and provincial councilors," added, "We are hosting the event with the meaning of asking for a great contribution to the development of the Jeju and our alma mater"
