JNU Stadium with ‘murals’ decorated by students
JNU Stadium has been refurbished with ‘murals’ created by students.
In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the opening of JNU, the mural work on the stadium was organized by Jeju National University Student Council 'Uri' (Yang Woo-seok, Student Council President). This was done in collaboration with Sangsang Unive, a community for KT&G college students' external activities. About 100 students from Jeju National University participated in this work.
The work was carried out in such a way that the old murals were removed and painted with new ones. The theme of the mural is ‘Imagination, Happiness’, which expresses the freedom of college students.
In particular, the murals were decorated in an environmentally friendly manner, such as using eco-friendly paints and recycling PET bottle caps as a material for painting.
The mural work on the Stadium will continue in the future. In addition to the wall under the existing stand, by putting murals on the top of the stand and in the empty space, Uri’s aim is to enhance the atmosphere and culture of the stadium.
Student Council President Yang said, “I would like to express my gratitude to the students who actively participated in this project,” and continued, “I hope that this event will serve as an opportunity to strengthen bonds and instill a sense of pride and love for JNU among students.”
