에너지신산업연구소 연구원 3명, ‘교육부 과제’ 동시 선정

Selection of KRF projects by 3 researchers in Research Institute of New Energy Industry(RINEI)

Three foreign postdoctoral researchers, Y. Visayakuma, K. Buniya, and M. Sindhuja from the New Energy Industry Research Institute (Kim Sang-jae, Director) at JNU, were finally selected for the ‘Creativity and Challenge Research Support Project’ by the Ministry of Education.

The selected tasks are Dr. Bijayakuma’s 'Development of high-efficiency proton conductor membrane for high-temperature operation fuel cell', Dr. Buniya’s 'Development of high-perforance direct alcohol fuel cell based on non-precious metal single atom catalyst', and Dr. Sindhhuja’s 'Development of high-performance flexible supercapacitor for next-generation wearable devices'.

They will receive a research grant of 630 million KRW (210 million KRW per researcher) for three years from June this year until May 31, 2025.

Director Kim Sang-jae said, “Jeju has led the field of empirical research and manpower training in the energy field, but comparatively has lacked R&D capabilities,” and stressed that the “New Energy Industry Research Institute has been working hard to make Jeju a mecca for the new energy industry by supplementing and implementing it.”
