JNU womens track and field team earns national championship for 14 consecutive years



Jeju National University Women’s track and field team came away with a national championship for 14 consecutive years.

At Kumi Public Stadium in Kumi City, Kyungpook Province where the 69th National Collegiate Track and Field Meet was held, Jeju National University Women’s track and field team won 3 gold and silver medals each, along with 7 bronze medals, putting the team at the championship mount.

This year’s championship of the team is the 14th year in a row since the meet was held in 2002.

Team’s senior class woman Nam Cho Reum recorded a time of 2 minutes 22 seconds and 18 in winning the 800m run.

The JNU team came in first with a record time of 4 minutes 6 seconds and 61 in the 1600m relay, defeating the second place Chungnam National University team.

Lim Yoon Hee placed second, winning a silver medal in the 5000m final. Kim Kyung Won and Ryu Mi Jin added medals in the 3000m run and shot-put, respectively.

Kim Soo Mi (400m run), Lee Kyung Jin (100m hurdle), Choi Na Ram (800m run, hammer throwing), Han Dan Bi (1500m run) and Eum Hyo Kyung (high jump) earned medals.

Having led the team’s 14th consecutive year championship, Lim Kwan Chul was awarded a coaching excellence medal.
