Clithon retropictus (molluscan snail) habitat found by Prof. Hong Seung Ho

Professor Hong Seung Ho of Jeju National University Teachers College and member of the Jeju Sea Grant Center Project discovered that a signicant number (>200) of Clithon retropictus (molluscan snail) live in the downstream water of Chunjiyeon Water Falls which had been thought to be extinct (Extinct Wild Animal 2 class, according the Ministry of Environment designation).

Professor Hong reported that the newly found habitat of the snails is close to the environmentally risky water for their survival and that special measures to protect the animal must be undertaken shortly.
