Prof. Lee Byung Gurl elected as co-chair of North Pacific Data Buoy Advisory Panel

Professor Lee Byung Gurl of the Jeju National University Department of Civil Engineering was elected as co-chair of the North Pacific Data Buoy Advisory Panel (NPDBAP, Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission) at the 31st World Meteorological Organization JCOMM-DBCP (Data Buoy Cooperation Panel) congress held in Geneva, Switzerland, last week (October 19, 2015).

North Pacific Data Buoy Advisory Panel (NPDBAP), a division of the Data Buoy Cooperation Panel (DBCP) provides advisory and problem solving services in response to oceanic and meteorological concerns in North America, Pacific and Asian regions. It also works to standardize the oceanographic data.

Professor Lee serves his 4-year term co-chairmanship for the first time  as an Asian.
