Fundraiser for a JNU student who will donate a section of liver to her father

JNU held a fundraiser for a JNU student who is set to donate a part of her liver to be transplanted into her father, struggling with liver cancer.
The student, who is a member of the College of Economics & Commerce, is about to undergo the operation at Seoul National University Hospital. However, the family has been overwhelmed with medical bills.
To help the situation, Jeju National University held a fundraiser for the student and her family in conjunction with JNU's 70th Anniversary celebratory ?Charity Golf Competition? held at Blackstone CC. This event was organized through the supervision of the College of Economics & Commerce at JNU, on the 12th of July.
This charity golf event raised a total of 170 million KRW. These donations will go towards the transplant surgery and recuperation for the student and her father, as well as towards future university development and supplies.
Kim Jeong-hoon, Dean of the College of Economics and Business and Dean of the Graduate School of Business, who planned the event, said, ?After hearing the sad story of the student from her professors, we decided to hold this event in order to raise funds for surgery.? He added, ?We hope the surgery will be successful and both the student and her father will regain their health."
Many companies, including Shilla Duty Free, New Hwachung International Travel Agency, KGC Ginseng Corporation, CGV, and Blackstone Resort, provided assistance for this charity event.
