Promoting the Pharmaceutical Bio Industry to Foster Investment Professionals

College of Pharmacy JNU (Dean Lee Sang-ho) and Korea Investment Partners (CEO Hwang Man-soon) signed an MOU for mutual cooperation with JNU to "foster investment professionals who will lead the future biopharmaceutical industry revitalization" at JNU.

 

Through the agreement, the two organizations decided to establish a close cooperative system to systematically and efficiently promote practical training in the pharmaceutical industry.

 

To this end, the two organizations decided to cooperate on the following; △Joint development of an in-depth pharmaceutical practice training curriculum for the pharmaceutical industry △Education, training, and practical training for nurturing investment professionals in the pharmaceutical bio-industry △Training to improve the professionalism of educators △Sharing human resources and infrastructure to strengthen the competitiveness of the national pharmaceutical bio-industry.

 

This is the first case in Korea of educational cooperation of pharmaceutical colleges that develops a mutual cooperation education program for nurturing investment professionals in the pharmaceutical-bio field and provides practical experience to undergraduate students. Practical training will begin in 2023.

 

Hwang Man-soon, CEO of Korea Investment Partners, said, "In order for bio companies to take a quantum leap forward with global competitiveness, they need to actively invest in fostering talent that will boost the capabilities of companies with excellent technology and intellectual property rights," and stressed, "It is important to gain practical experience from undergraduate courses so that pharmacists with expertise in the pharmaceutical bio field can predict promising investment fields and find companies that can grow."

 

Lee Sang-ho, Dean of College of Pharmacy JNU , said, "In order for pharmacology students to play a pivotal role in the future through various experiences in the pharmaceutical bio field, practical training and education cooperation in the field of pharmaceutical and bio investment such as venture capital is essential." and added, "I hope this agreement with Korea Investment Partners, Korea's top bio-investment company, will have a positive impact on the quality improvement of the Korean pharmaceutical bio industry.”
