Establishment of the ‘Office of Education Innovation’ to Foster Future Convergence Talents

Jeju National University established the Office of Education Innovation in July, through organizational restructuring.
The purpose behind the establishment of the office is to expand convergence education in response to the 4th industrial revolution by strengthening the educational innovation function through unifying the organization of the liberal arts major curriculum and strengthening the educational performance feedback system. Furthermore, it is aimed at fostering future convergence talents with the cultural and future capabilities required in the 21st century society.
‘Office of Education Innovation’ has been organized is under the University Headquarters and the office integrated the existing ‘Office of Education’ and the 'Educational Innovation Headquarters', a unit under Direct Presidential Directives. The office has the 'Division of Educational Innovation' and 'Division of Future Education' as sub-organizations. 'Division of Educational Innovation' has strengthened the ‘educational innovation function’ and ‘educational performance management function’ in the existing undergraduate departments. The Division of Future Education is in charge of overall support for ‘teaching and learning methods’ and ‘distance education’. The office consists of two divisions and five teams.
Accordingly, the organizations of Jeju National University Headquarters have changed the existing 3 offices (Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Student Affairs and Career Development, Office of Planning) & 1Bureau of General Administration into 4 offices & 1Bureau of General Administration.
JNU said, "Through this reorganization, it is expected to create a synergy effect and strengthen its status by creating the foundation for educational innovation such as unifying the curriculum organization (liberal arts and major subjects), establishing a comprehensive student education support system and strengthening the educational performance return system.“
