JNU (President Kim Eel-hwan) Commits to a New Leap Torward the Future at the 73rd Anniversary Ceremony

The ceremony to commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the founding of Jeju National University (JNU) in 2025 was held on May 26, one day earlier than the official date. The event, held at JNU's Aramuse Hall, was attended by over 300 participants, including faculty and staff. The ceremony featured an academic report, the presentation of a scholarship certificate from the Development Fund, the Deoksan Innovation Award, a plaque of appreciation, and a citation.

In his commemorative address, JNU President Kim Eel-hwan said, “Jeju National University, which was established in 1952 with the hopes and love of the people of Jeju, has grown alongside the region by nurturing numerous talented individuals based on the values of truth and justice. Notably, JNU received the Grand Prize in the Government Innovation Education sector in 2004 and continues to achieve tangible results, including ranking first in employment rates among Korea's nine national flagship universities.”

He continued, “We now stand at a new starting point. This is a moment to reflect on the journey we have taken, to express our gratitude, and to envision a future yet to be written—together. JNU will once again forge a new path under the banner of ‘Together.’”
