문일주 교수, 세계 최고 권위 '네이처'에 논문 게재
Prof. Moon Il Joo publishes paper in Nature

Professor Moon Il Joo from the Jeju National University Department of Maritime Police published a research paper entitled ‘El Nino and Intense Tropical Cyclone’ in a recent issue of the prestigious weekly scientific journal, Nature.

The journal Nature is regarded as one to the three most prestigious journals in science including Science, Cell and Nature. Professor Moon’s publication is the first dealing with the mechanism  of cyclone in Korea.

The paper contradicts the previous held theory of El Nino  and cyclone in the tropics published in the Nature in 2014 by a research team (led by Professor Jin) from the University of Hawaii.

Professor Moon directs the JNU Typhoon Research Center. Kim Sung Hoon coauthored the Nature paper who is a pre-doctoral fellow under Professor Moon’s supervision.
