Geography Education graduate students win superior research presentation prizes at Geography meet

Recently, a team of the Jeju National University Geography Education faculty and students was honored with superior research presentation prizes at the 2015 Korean Society for Geography annual meeting held in the K-Hotel, Seoul.

The team (Choi Gwang Hee and Kim Yoon Mi, team members) led by Professor Choi Gwang Yong presented a research paper at the geography conference and came away with a superior presentation prize from the meeting earlier this week. Their paper dealt with the damages to the protective forest caused by the typhoon BOLAVEN that swept through Jeju Island in 2012.

At the same meeting, Kim Kwon Ho, Masters degree candidate, also won a superior presentation prize with his poster paper, reporting on a sustainable use of natural resources based on Jeju diving women’s experiences with fishing banks.

Pre-doctoral Fellow Chung Geun Oh won another award for his photographic exhibition entitled “Mt. Halla protecting against wind” at the same conference.
