Joint campaign to establish pharmacy colleges at Chonbuk and Jeju National Universities agreed

Jeju National University seeks a college of pharmacy on the campus.
The university (President Huh Hyang Jin) is coordinating the campaign to lure a college of pharmacy with Chonlbuk National University (President Lee Nam Ho) and Dong Ah University (President Kwon Oh Chang) by signing the agreement for the tripartite efforts.
The three universities decided to put forward a joint proposal for a new pharmacy college, respectively, to the government authority through sharing of information, strategies and publicity efforts.
The three institutions involved released the campaign slogan based on the 5.3% growth rate of pharmaceutical industry and on the fact that clinical and research oriented pharmacists account for only 22% of the pharmacy graduates, compared to up to 50% in developed countries such as US and Japan. In Korea, most of the pharmacy college graduates are self-employed as pharmacists.
The three universities are in agreement in mounting campaign to lure a college of pharmacy, respectively, to train clinical and research pharmacists needed through the 6-year program (4 years in pre-pharmacy and 2 years in advanced majors).
