Laboratory Animal Facilities relocate to new center

Jeju National University Laboratory Animal Facilities (Lee Young Jae, Director) relocated its activity center from the College of Life and Resource Sciences to the new College of Veterinary Medicine building. The relocation was congratulated by President Huh Hyang Jin and other university/college officials.
The relocation was necessitated by the lack of sufficient space at the previous center, and the new facilities include clean laboratory rooms and toxicology labs. The new center is equipped with a state of the art ventilation and deodorization system for efficient management of the laboratory animals housed there.
Biohazard and autoclave equipment have also been installed, in addition to personnel safety items, emergency shower, and CCTV.
At the relocation formality, Director Lee commented that the new center provides adequate space and new equipment for operating the laboratory animal facilities and that both university and extramural/industrial scientists would be able to use the center for collaborative research needing laboratory animals.
