Prof. Moon Il Joo named 2015 Faculty Member Most Brightening JNU

Professor Moon Il Joo of the JNU Department of Maritime Industrial Police was named the 2015 Faculty Member Most Brightening Jeju National University, according to the announcement made by the university Monday (January 4, 2016).

The naming of the honor is attributed to his recent publication in Nature, one of the three most prestigious journals in science. In the paper, Professor Moon proposed the mechanism of strong typhoon induced by El Nino phenomenon. Professor Moon was the principal author of the publication.

Currently, he serves as Director of Typhoon Research Center at Jeju National University.
