Prof. Hyun Jung Seok wins superior research presentation award

Professor Hyun Jung Seok of the Jeju National University Department of Management Information came away with a superior presentation award from the 2016 Korea TRIZ Festival, an annual event organized by Korea Academic TRIZ Association (now Korea Applied Science Society), recently held at KAIST Seoul.

Along with ETRIZ President Shin Jung Ho, Professor Hyun presented a case story of unlimited imagination in discovery class for elementary school youths at the meeting.

They taught the elementary school children in creative discoveries under the JNU Unlimited Imagination program “TRIZ Discovery Camp with Dads and Moms.” The program has been jointly supported by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity.

The program’s goals are to stimulate the young children for creative thinking and induce them to get interested in innovative discoveries through various educational and hands on tools such as mentor (college student)-mentee interactions, mobile software instruction, etc.

Among the notable accomplishments, the JNU Unlimited Imagination program produced Jeju junior high students selected among the 100 national discovery scholarship recipients at the 13th National Meet.

In addition, the JNU program was recognized for its outstanding implementation in 2014 by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity.
