김인중 교수, 한국식물생명공학회 ‘우수특허상’ 수상

Professor Kim In-jung received the ‘Excellent Patent Award’ from the Korean Society of Plant Biotechnology

Kim In-Jung, Department of Biomaterials, Faculty of Biotechnology at Jeju National University, won the ‘Excellent Patent Award’ at the ‘2022 Annual Meeting of the Korean Society for Plant Biotechnology’ held at the Ramada Plaza Jeju.

The theme of the conference was 'Plant Material Industry for the Future'.

Professor Kim has been conducting research on cultivating new citrus varieties and analyzing the genome. He won the award for achieving excellent research achievements in patent registration (Korea, USA, Japan) and technology transfer for 'a method for predicting sugar content and acidity of citrus using multi-variate statistical analysis of FT-IR spectral data'.

Kim is the Editor-in-Chief of 'Plant Biotechnology Reports', an SCI-level academic journal of the Korean Society for Plant Biotechnology. As a director of the Society, he also has contributed a lot to the development of the society. Moreover, he holds a number of papers and patents in prominent journals in plant biotechnology.

He is also working on R&D-linked intellectual property creation and education, serving as the head of the Korea Intellectual Property Education Research Association and the director of JNU Intellectual Property Education Center, the deputy head of the subtropical Daeyeol Institute, and the director of the bio-resource computing convergence research center.
