Wild Animals Rescue Center releases injured badger to the wild after treatment

Jeju National University Wild Animals Rescue Center (Yoon Young Min, Center Director) released an injured badger to its ranch habitat after therapeutic treatment earlier today (March 8, 2016).

The feral animal was trapped for at least three to four days in a snare set up by anonymous hunter(s), causing severe bodily injuries to the badger. It was rescued just in time by the center staff last Thursday (March 3, 2016).

Center Director Yoon urged the local authority to establish effective measures to protect badgers and other wild animals in Jeju from the hunters’ illicit trappings for money and as groundless “health food.”
