Each JNU student receives an average of 2.55 million won, with 87% of enrollees receiving scholarships
During the past academic year (2015), the two-third (67%) of the individual tuition payment was covered by scholarship stipends.
It also turned out that more than 8 out of 10 enrollees were scholarship beneficiaries.
According to a detailed analysis, funding for the scholarships came from both extramural and intramural sources; △extramural fund ~19.89 billion won △ intramural scholarship fund ~6.70 billion won, totaling over 25.96 billion won.
An average scholarship stipend benefited by 11,490 students was 2.558 million won which accounts for 67% of the tuition payment required for registered enrollment (~3.782 million won).
8,925 students were scholarship recipients, some 87% of the total students enrolled having been the beneficiaries.
The university announced that the average stipend per recipient increases to 3.0 million won by academic year 2018.
With 66.4% of the tuition covered by scholarships, Jeju National University had ranked at the top among the nine NECGIS (National Educational Center for Geographic Information System) national universities in 2014.
