Jeju National University Heritage Academy met its 4th class last Friday (March 18, 2016).

The Heritage Academy is a unique organization comprised of the business and industrial corporate leaders (as “students”) who are directly and indirectly tied with Jeju National University through implementation of classroom discussion, cultural, historical and nature experiencing programs in Jeju. The academy program opened its class four years ago.

Nineteen “students” were in the first year class; there are 45 now.

Following the opening of the 4th class, three “Heritage Scholarships” established by the academy class were presented to three JNU students (Kim Min Ji, senior in Mechanical Engineering, Jin Hyo In, junior in Electronics Engineering, and Kang Jung Hyeop, senior in Political Science and Diplomacy) who came from economically underprivileged families.

Scholarship donors from the class include Cho Yun Jae (CEO, Puritech), Cho An Joon (President, Design and Food Culture), Kim Joong Jo (Hon. CEO, Edward Korea) who each contributed 500,000 won.

In thanking the donors, President Huh Hyang Jin complimented the corporate executives for their generosity and enthusiasm for learning through the program participation.
