'세계 뇌주간' 기념 학술심포지엄 개최
World Brain Week observed with symposium program

The 2016 World Brain Awareness Week was observed with a thematic symposium on the youths’ career challenge, dementia studies, last weekend (March 19, 2016). The symposium held in JNU University Hospital auditorium was organized by the Jeju National University School of Medicine (Kim Jin Seok, Dean) and the Korean Brain Studies organizations.

The symposium program featured presentations by Professors An Sang Mi, Dankook University (“How to develop dementia drugs”), Park Joon Hyeok, Jeju National University (“Understanding of dementia”), and Eun Soo Eun, Jeju National University (“Brain research and the future of humans”).

The symposium program was followed by a lively Q&A session involving the speakers and the audience, especially students.

To publicize the importance of brain science, DANA Foundation in the USA launched the brain awareness week in 1992. It has become a worldwide promotional event to advance the brain studies and is observed in over 60 countries on the third week of the month of March.
