Kim Eel-hwan, President of JNU, said, “This agreement has great significance as Jeju National University has directly established a cooperative system with a foreign government. We anticipate that practical projects will follow in the future.” and added, “In particular, Indonesia, which has recently been investing heavily in the marine and fishery sector, is paying attention to Korea’s research achievements in the marine and fishery sector and aquaculture technology.”
He continued, “Starting with Indonesia, the agreement is expected to serve as an opportunity for JNU to play a role as a bridge for human exchange as well as export and research cooperation in the maritime and fishery sector in Southeast Asia in the future.”
The event was attended by former President Megawati Soekarnoputri, former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Research and Human Resources Rokhmin Dahuri, Ambassador Gandi Sulistiyanto to Korea, and Chairperson of the Ministry of National Research and Innovation Ocky Karna Radjasa on the Indonesian side.
