공과대학 조교협, 6년간 총 1060만원 장학금 지원

A total of KRW 10.6 million in scholarships has provided by the Faculty of Engineering’s assistant association for 6 years

The Jeju National University College of Engineering Faculty Association (President Ko Kyung-pil) delivered a total of KRW 1.6 million in scholarships to four engineering college students.

The Faculty Association was founded in 1989 to promote the rights and interests of assistants, and members have been collecting money every month for the development of the association.

The members of the Association discussed the ways to use the collected money meaningfully. As members of JNU, they all agreed to donate the money as scholarships for juniors and has given scholarships every year since 2017 and paid a total of KRW 10.6 million for six years.

Koh Kyung-pil, president of the Faculty Association, said, “Most of the teaching assistants graduated from Jeju National University. Therefore, It is necessary to show students an example of giving back to society as a senior and faculty member. Although it is a small amount of money, I hope that it will be of some help in overcoming COVID-19 and helping students achieve their dreams.”
