JNU picked to open Lifelong Education College
Jeju National University has been designated to implement a College of Continuing Education program by the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Lifelong Education, it was announced earlier today (May 4, 2016).
Other universities to open a continuing education college are Daegu University, Myungji University, Bookyung University, Seoul University of Science and Technology, and Inha University.
The lifelong education college program provides a rolling admission opportunity for those who graduated from high schools but chose to get employed for their family livelihood. Implementation of the program is a new initiative this year.
Jeju National University is expected to receive an annual grant of 3 billion won for the project this year.
For demographic, emigrating, industrial and geographic reasons, Jeju National University will open the Departments of Health, Beauty and Cosmetics, Real Estate Management, Tourism and Agriculture Convergence, and Silver Care (Elderlies Care). The departments accept up to 154 students annually.
Applications are accepted in September (for academic credits) 2016 or March 2017 (for non-academic credits).
