Jeju Energy and Hyosung to collaborate with JNU on maritime wind power technology

Jeju National University (Huh Hyang Jin, President) signed the MOU with Jeju Energy Corporation (Lee Sung Koo, President) and Hyosung Group (Moon Sup Cheol, Vice President) to establish a system of 20MW DC transmission of electricity generated through maritime wind energy at Jeju National University last Tuesday (May 10, 2016).

The tripartite collaboration makes it possible for the maritime wind power-linked voltage type HVDC developed by JNU and Hyosung to be tested for the system feasibility using the equipment and technology owned by Jeju Energy Corporation.

The government funded JNU-Hyosung project is expected to significantly contribute to the development of maritime wind electricity for the Jeju region.
