The project aims to train professionals needed for operating and maintaining land, sea and wind electric energy power generators.
The consortium comprised of Jeju National University and Pusan National University will be administered and operated by Professor Huh Jong Chul in charge. It also works together with the five industrial affiliates including Jeju Energy Corporation. The project is jointly sponsored by Jeju Autonomous Government and Pusan Metropolitan City Government.
The five year project ending in 2021 is annually budgeted at 1.15 billion won, and training of masters and doctoral degree candidates for the energy industry.
Wind power generation is of particular importance for Jeju with its “Carbon Free Island” target by year 2030.
