Prof. An Sung Jo has his criminal law book on Korean Academy of Sciences' 2016-list
Professor An Sung Jo of the Jeju National University School of Law published a criminal law book <Modern Criminal Law: Volume 2; Theory and Method in Modern Criminal Law> and it has earned being on the recommended list of the Korean Academy of Sciences, it was announced last Monday (May 16, 2016).
The book is comprised of ten chapters dealing with the evolution theory and Gene, Meme and Form of Life [subtitle keywords]. In the book, Professor An explores how these evolutionary biology concepts are implicated in the modern criminal law.
The author introduces the desirable image of human being based on Talio principle and compensation thought, and other topics such as organizational criminal responsibility, school violence and its counter measure, and related criminality issues as viewed from the evolutionary theoretical vantages.
To convey the book’s prime message to the reader, Professor An says that law is not merely a cultural property, but it is rooted in the evolutionary theory.
