JNU succeeds getting "University for Korea Project (CK-1)" renewed



The Ministry of Education announced yesterday (June 31, 2016) that the University for Korea (CK-1) project at Jeju National University is fully renewed for its four project programs.

The CK-1 project was launched by the Ministry to promote the regional development through strengthening and specialization of project-participant universities in 2014.

A midway review and evaluation process was conducted on 338 project programs of the 106 regional universities located at different parts of the country, and 70% of the funded projects gets renewed for continuation.

On the strengths of progress made during the past two years, the four project programs of Jeju National University, namely, Subtropical Agriculture and Bioscience Convergence/Fusion Industry Training, Smart Grid and Clean Energy Convergence Industry Training, Jeju Culture Contents Creative Personnel Training, and Biodiversity-based Cosmetics Industry Training projects were found meritorious for further funding (10.8 billion for 3 years; 3.6 billion won annually).
