Daily patient visits to JNU Hospital reach 3,000
More than 3,000 patients visit Jeju National University Hospital (Kang Sung Hah, Hospital Director) daily, it was announced earlier today.
The record number of daily patient visits reached 3,044 last Monday (June 13, 2016). This figure reflects a 4-year increase of 1,000 patients since June 2012 when over 2,000 patients visited the hospital every day.
Several factors contributed to the increased patient visitation, according to Hospital Director Dr. Kang. Improved medical service through updated specialists and facilities, availability of delicate surgical procedures such as liver transplantation circumventing the medical needs for the patients to fly to Seoul, and quality research activities, are some of the reasons behind the out-patient records achieved at JNU Hospital.
The JNU Hospital with 650 beds accommodates average of 600 in-patients, and provides clinical consultancies for 2,600 out-patients on a daily basis.
About 200 medical specialists and experts, Da Vinci Robot Surgical Equipment, Cancer Therapy Machine RAPID Arc, and many other facilities including regional medical and clinical centers are available to meet the needs of the patients in Jeju area.
