Jeju Joritte Tea gets distributed nationwide

Jeju Joritte (“dward bamboo”) tea available only to the area tea lovers will now be distributed nationwide.

The joritte tea is specially manufactured from Jeju’s wild growing bamboo species plants, and is traditionally known for its effectiveness in reducing obesity, blood sugars, hypertension, and stress, and enforces the body’s immune system as well.

Jeju National University Joritte RIS Industry Project and its industrial affiliate, Jeju Neukkim, collaborated to manufacture the unique tea products. The tea has been a popular beverage among the Jeju consumers and soccer and other sports players since it was marketed a few years ago.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Jeju Autonomous Government funded the project since 2010, in the hope of establishing the joritte tea as one of the regional industrial successes.
