Professor Jeon Yu-jin, head of head of the Education and Research Center the for Fisheries Life Industry, won an excellent academic award

Prof. Jeon Yu-jin, head of the Education and Research Center the for Fisheries Life Industry on the 4th Phase BK (Brain Korea)21 Future Strategy at Jeju National University, won the Excellence Academic Award at ‘The International Society for Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods (ISNFF 2022)’ held in Istanbul, Turkye.

Professor Jeon was acknowledged for the contribution to the development of the functional food field by continuously conducting research on the functionalization of food materials by interpreting the functions of functional raw materials which are derived from seafood and elucidating the chemical structure of active substances.

Professor Jeon has accomplished many results in academic and industrial research fields with lots of patents and books for 20 years at JNU. In 2022, in order to grow a new processed fishery food industry in Jeju, Jeon founded Fishhu Co., Ltd., developing Jeju fish cakes, which directly applies the technology to the industry, which has been researched and developed at JNU.

The ISNFF Society annually gives academic awards to researchers, company representatives, and institutions for outstanding achievements and contributions to the development of nutraceuticals, health supplements, and natural products.
