Professor Kim Sang-jae won the Academic Award of the Korean Society of Machinery 

Professor Kim Sang-jae (Department of Mechanical System Engineering), director of the 4th phase of BK (Brain Korea) Jeju National University's Energy New Industry Advancement and Innovative Talent Fostering Education Research Center, won the 'Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers Academic Award' at the 'Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers' 2022 academic conference and regular general meeting'.

The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers' Academic Award is the best award in the academic field of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers, which is awarded to scholars or organizations that have made the best academic achievements in the mechanical department of a university, research institutes, and industries.

This academic award is determined by the winner's SCI thesis at the award committee of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers and by thesis performance of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers, service performance of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers, and service performance at domestic and international conferences. In addition, the award is determined by quantitative and qualitative evaluation of one’s representative papers.

Professor Kim has published more than 60 major research achievements in energy-related fields in overseas academic journals with a citation index of 10 or higher, including Energy & Environmental Science (citation index 39.7). He is a regular member of the Korea Academy of Science and Technology.

The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers was founded in 1945 and has been leading the academic and technological development in the field of mechanical engineering in Korea. Currently, about 20,000 members belong to this society, which is the authoritative society in the field of mechanical engineering in Korea.
