오홍식 교수, 제주도문화상(학술) 수상자 선정

Professor Oh Hong-sik, the winner of the Jeju Cultural Award (Academic category)  

Oh Hong-sik, a professor of biology education at Jeju National University's College of Education, was selected as the winner of the 2022 Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Cultural Award in the Academic Category.

Professor Oh was recognized for his contribution to promoting the importance of Jeju's ecological environment and playing a major role in environmental conservation by combining research and education by publishing various research papers in domestic and foreign journals.

The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province explained that he returned the patented technology acquired by incorporating the research results into the production site to the local community, which was one of the factors selected as the winner.

‘The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Cultural Award’ began in 1962. This year marks the 61st anniversary. This is an honorable award given to individuals or organizations with outstanding contributions to the promotion of culture and arts and the development of local communities.
